The One Where I See a Snowman.

For my first official blog entry I will regale you with a story from my first Monday back to school from Spring Break.

Despite a brief snowfall this morning, by five this afternoon as I ambled back to my room after a long day of classes and work, there was very little snow on the ground. However, this did not stop some stranger from manufacturing an attempt at a snowman in the middle of the sidewalk with the small amount of snow available. It was obvious that the nearby tree supplied the arms, but it went to a worthy cause.

I was pleased to see the snowman, and I smirked as I passed. But for some reason, and I'm not sure what this says about me, but I derived more pleasure from seeing a random stranger notice the snowman and giggle to herself. I've been reflecting on this ever since, and I can go in two directions with this. Either this means that I am selfless and I enjoy other's pleasure more than my own or I am so petty that my own enjoyment is ignored until someone else justifies it.

I'm hoping it is actually somewhere in the middle and that the giggle just compounded my happiness. Yeah, that's the ticket. Icing on the cake.
